The library is the heart’ of any academic institution and plays an important role in all academic activities .

KV ASC has a exquisite library located on the First floor of the Main building ,blends traditional print resources with an array of electronic collections and services. Its design accommodates small groups, individual readers, large group instruction . In addition to computer section for Students we do have the facility features cozy areas for quiet reading; expanded reference, journal and career sections; and growing video and audio book collections.
Students and teachers visit the library regularly, including a dedicated ‘reading period’ when students can develop a love of books and reading.
The library’s book capacity has nearly doubled in course of time . A combination of picture books, fiction, Encyclopedias, non-fiction, big books, Biographies , Sample Papers, Magazines, award-winning books and curriculum enrichment materials.,
makes the Library an inviting and productive learning environment.


The library and its staff are dedicated to provide the best collection and service to children, educators and parents.

We have many books by Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Daniel Defoe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Alexandre Dumas, Rudyard Kipling, William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Emily Bronte, Charlotte Bronte, Oscar wild etc. The Harry Potter series is also available. In addition there are reference books available for all school subjects.
 
Children are encouraged to start reading at an early age, and for primary students there are series of books including Noddy, the Enid Blyton series and many other interesting story books and comics appealing to young readers.
   
For light reading we have a series of books by Pearl . S. Buck, Agatha Christie, Frederick Forsyth, Robert Ludlum, Jeffery Archer, Lloyd C. Douglas, Wilbur Smith and many others. These are for primarily for teachers and Higher Secondary Students.
 
Newspapers and magazines containing current events are available on a separate stand for student and teacher reference.   Three computers are available in the library and children can book in advance a time slot of half an hour with the librarian .

in its Education Code in 2008 

 

Aim: The Library provides a welcoming learning environment for students and staff; supports the school’s aims and curriculum; encourages the love of reading and the development of students’ independent learning skills 

Opening Hours: The library timings are 08.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m (open on school days only) with a dedicated librarian available to assist students and teachers with research and book selection

 Library Periods: According to the school time table the students of Class VI-XII can visit the library for the issue and return of the books during their library periods. They can refer books and participate in library activities during this time.

Borrowing information: Students can borrow one book per fortnight.  Faculty and staff can borrow maximum of 5 books for a period of one month. The students have a reading period regularly in which they can make books their best friends. Not only reading, but they also have to write the book review, starting from Std-I. Class libraries are functioning for classes I to V 

Open Access and Classification: The library follows an open access system. The books are classified and shelved according to the Dewey decimal classification. 

Library Automation: The stock and services of the library automation is under progress

    I have loved our school library when I was in the school and now it is so nice to see this site. Our library always quipped the best books and resources. Hence I am not amazed to see that we embraced technology well to get his site.
